MASO was founded in the year 1961 by Manfred Sommer. The main duty at the beginning was the gentle transfer of grapes in the wine and beverage industry. During that time MASO developed their own pump systems in order to solve difficult fluid handling problems in the wider market. In the mid seventies the company developed the MASO PADDLE PUMP for applications in the food industry. The Maso paddle pump was especially designed for the careful and gentle handling of particulate laden processed food and other fragile products within the cosmetics and dairy industries. During the year 1981 the MASO SINE PUMP was developed. This pump system was one of the few real serious developments within the pump industry. Today thousands of MASO pumps are working successfully every day handling viscous and shear sensitive products. During the year 1995 the DIN ISO 9001 certification was achieved, a further proof of the high quality of MASO products.
