SPX100 Thrive Where Centrifugal Pumps Fail | ||
![]() | A large copper and gold mining company in Arizona needed to replace existing hard chrome iron centrifugal pumps. The centrifugal pump impellers were wearing out every two weeks, pumping a tailings slurry, causing significant downtime and costly repairs. After looking at several different pump technologies, the mine decided on Bredel SPX100 hose pumps. The SPX100 hose pumps transfer the tailings slurry 2200 feet away to a separate plant. The Arizona mine stated that the performance of the Bredel hose pumps have resulted in a considerable cost savings in both maintenance and water usage. With no seals to flush and the ability to pump tailings at a much higher solids concentration (80%) the SPX100s have significantly reduced the amount of water needed.
