Close-Coupled Pumps Perfect for GUAR

Stillwater's Base Metals Refinery in Columbus, MT needed to replace their solenoid type diaphragm metering pumps for their GUAR application. The refinery found that the ball checks on the solenoid pumps would fail, or stick causing the pump to be rebuilt and the refinery to incur costly downtime. So Stillwater purchased Watson-Marlow 521CC pumps for the application, in hopes of alleviating the constant need for maintenance.

With the 521CC pumps, a simple tube change and the pump is like new, unlike the diaphragm pumps which would not work even after a rebuild. After the first group of pumps was successful Stillwater purchased additional 521CC Watson-Marlow pumps for their flocculant, copper sulphate, and xanthate applications.
